HAS Financial Literacy Impact

Building Financial Confidence Beyond Home Ownership
At Home Affordability Solutions (HAS), our mission has always extended beyond helping people purchase a home. While we are proud to support Australians into the property market with innovative low-deposit solutions, we also recognise that long-term financial wellbeing is built on something much deeper: education, confidence, and capability.
Every day, we work with individuals and families who have never been taught how lending works, how to budget effectively, how credit impacts their future, or how to make informed financial decisions. We see firsthand that financial stress is often not caused by a lack of ambition, but by a lack of access to practical financial education. That insight is what led us to invest heavily into financial literacy initiatives.
Supporting the Next Generation Through Financial Literacy Education
Through Financial Literacy Education (FLE) and the FIT (Financial Independence Training) Solutions program, HAS is helping shape the next generation of financially competent Australians. Delivered into high schools across the country, the program provides free, curriculum-aligned financial literacy education to Year 10 students, covering real-world topics such as budgeting, saving, debt, credit, goal setting, and the fundamentals of home ownership.
Our focus is not product promotion. It is empowerment. We believe young people deserve access to practical financial knowledge before they enter adulthood, take on debt, or make major life decisions. Financial literacy should not depend on family background or socioeconomic status.
By bringing experienced professionals into classrooms to educate students in an engaging and relatable way, we are helping students build confidence, ask questions, and better understand the financial systems they will eventually navigate.
Creating Impact Beyond the Classroom
The impact extends well beyond the classroom. Students take these conversations home to their families. Teachers gain access to additional resources. Parents engage with materials designed to continue financial conversations at home. In many cases, we are reaching communities where financial education has historically been limited or inaccessible.
This initiative sits naturally alongside HAS’s broader purpose. We are not simply focused on facilitating transactions; we are focused on creating sustainable pathways to financial independence. Helping someone buy a home is important, but helping people understand money, build resilience, and make informed decisions for life creates generational impact.
A Long-Term Commitment to Financial Wellbeing
As a business, HAS has always believed that commercial success and social impact should coexist. We have seen that when people are equipped with education and support, outcomes improve not only financially, but emotionally and socially as well. Confidence grows. Anxiety reduces. Aspirations become achievable.
That is why financial literacy is not a side initiative for HAS. It is part of our long-term commitment to improving financial outcomes for Australians — not just for today’s borrowers, but for the next generation who will shape the future of housing, wealth creation, and financial wellbeing in this country.
